Food Service Sanitation Class

Many immigrants work in the food industry as wait staff, cooks, hosts and managers. Personnel who manage and supervise food service businesses are required to a Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate (FSSMC). 

Some workers who have experience as wait staff and cooks want to become managers and owners but lack training and knowledge about the finance and operations aspects of the food service industry.

Pui Tak Center has offered food safety certification classes in Cantonese, Mandarin and English since 2010. Our instructors have many years of hands-on experience working in the food and hospitality industry. They are certified ServSafe instructors and registered with the Chicago Department of Public Health.

Pui Tak Center offers a Food Service Management class for those preparing to become managers.

Manager Class
When: Last two Tuesdays of the month
Where: Pui Tak Center
Managers need to take the full class every 5 years
Cost: 
• ServSafe Course & Exam = $270
• Textbook = $60 (buy new), $40 (buy used), $30 (loaned) 
• CDPH Food Service Manager License = $52
